Dorothy “Polly” F. Tinnel  - b.1939-03-26 d.2019-10-29Dorothy “Polly” F. Tinnel, 80, of Floyd, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 in her home, under hospice care after suffering a massive stroke. Polly was an animal lover and an active member in her church community. She was a beloved school bus driver (for twenty-four years) and Head Custodian in the Montgomery County school system.

She is survived by her four siblings, Ray Furrow, Claudine Goad, Eve Wirt, and Larry Furrow, and their spouses; her seven children, Angela “Sue” Joyner, Nancy Tinnel Emrick, Lisa Gail Tinnel, Donna Renee Tinnel, Jeffery Jackson Tinnel, Steven Mark Tinnel, and Russell Dean Tinnell, and their spouses; along with twelve grandchildren and seven (soon to be eight) great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Fellowship Baptist Church (3795 Surface Road, Riner, VA 24149), with Pastor James Bradley officiating. A luncheon will follow. Inurnment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd County Humane Society https://cfnrv.givebig.org/c/NRV/a/floydhumanesociety) or the Trustees of Fellowship Baptist Church, at her request and in honor of her great love for animals and her strong faith.
