Stephen Clark Smith

Stephen Clark Smith, 59, of Dublin, Passed away on October 21, 2020. Stephen was a graduate of Patrick County High School and Virginia Tech. He spent his years serving in the U.S. Air Force obtaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill Smith, Arleen Meeks, and Stepfather Riley Meeks. Survived by brother, Gary Smith (Theresa); Nephew, Stephen Cort Smith; niece, Holly Davis (Justin); great nieces, Ashlyn, and Taylor Davis; one aunt, Opal Webster. A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 from 4PM-6PM at Gardner Funeral Home. If you choose to come to the services, please wear a face mask inside of the facilities due to COVID-19.

Steve was my nepheu. I loved him dearly. My sympathy to his Brother and his family. I am so sorry for the family. You were to young and full of life.. You retired from the military with honers. An so you began to build your life and have fun. Your death was not in the plan. You will be truly missed. I will love you always. RIP Aunt Opal.

I only knew Steve for the last few years but he was always a joy to talk to and always had something funny to say. Prayers to the family for their loss. Derrick Lancaster

Steve was a wonderful, fun, intelligent man. He was so good to Lindsay and me. We love him and miss him so much.

A good friend and generous soul to all of us who knew him while he was stationed in Spain. He would always offer help when you needed it and expected nothing in return. Very good with houses and cars....he helped us buy a second-hand car (Pontiac Bonneville) for our honeymoon in the US almost 20 years ago ...travelled Route 66 and didn’t break down!! We will always remember Steve for that. Sorry to see him go so soon, so young...rest in peace.
