Carolyn May Townsend

October 28, 1931 - July 15, 2021

Carolyn (Nan) May Townsend, was born October 25, 1931, was called home by her beloved Lord on July 15, 2021 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her husband: Martin John Townsend Sr.; parents: Frank and Anna Bertha Williams; son: Dominic Arcaro; daughters: Carolyn Ann Townsend, Patricia Antionette Jenkins; grandson: Michael James Early. She is survived by her children: John Joseph Reider, Jr. (Corinne), Martin John Townsend, Jr., Donna Jean Townsend, Julia Mary Early; Special son-in-law: Ralph M Early. She also leaves behind multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Nan was loved by many and had a very kind and compassionate heart. She adored her three pets: Luke, Hunter, and Target. Nan loved to cook for her family and enjoyed sitting on the porch to admire her flowers. Nan will be deeply missed by her family and friends, she will forever live on in our hearts. The family would like to thank Intrepid USA (Hospice at Home) for taking wonderful care of Nan. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Floyd Co. Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Hawkins officiating. Inurnment will follow at Jacksonville Cemetery. Aunt Carolyn will be missed. She was a wonder woman. I will always remember and love her. The time that I spent with her through out my life are some of my fondest memories.
