Norma Jean Poff Guilliams

October 18, 1934 - January 02, 2023

Jean Guilliams, 88, of Floyd County was born October 18,1934 and passed away January 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Euell “Bud” Poff and Virginia Poff, her husband Cecil Guilliams, her son Allan Guilliams, brother Bobby Poff, sister Faye King, and daughter in law Debbie Guilliams. She is survived by her children Susan Nichols and husband Tim, Carol Minnix and husband Mark, Rebecca Guilliams (daughter in law), Jeff Guilliams, Andy Guilliams and wife Tammy; sisters Betty Burnette, Coco Fralin, Myra Wray; sisters in law Garnet Hypes and Dorothy Guilliams; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren. Jean was a loving wife to Cecil and devoted mother to her children. Cecil and Jean spent most of their life in the Check/Copper Hill area. Jean was a member of Mt. Union Church of the Brethren on Bent Mountain. She spent her life committed to her Lord, her church and her family. She will be remembered fondly for her musical ability playing the piano and singing proudly for her Savior. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5th from 6-8 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd, VA. The funeral will be held Friday January 6th at 1 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home with internment following at the Rest Vale Cemetery in Check, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mount Union Church of the Brethren, c/o Building Fund, 9420 Bent Mountain Road, Bent Mountain, VA 24059

So sorry for loss of Jean. I knew her from VAMC and at The Oaks at Richfield. She was so friendly to me. Prayers to family.
