Loretta Cooper Higgins

March 31, 1937 - October 06, 2023

Loretta Cooper Higgins, age 86, of Floyd passed away on October 6, 2023. She was preceded in death by her son Tony Dean Higgins. Loretta is survived by her husband, Tom Higgins; son, Randy Lee Higgins; two granddaughters and five great grandchildren. A graveside service was held on October 8 at Jacksonville Cemetery. The family thanks nurse Monica Holfield of Good Samaritan for her love and care. Gardner Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.

She was a very kind and sweet lady. A beautiful smile for everyone.

Tom and family, I don't have to tell yy what a special lady she was. I adored and admired her. She was so wonderful as a Sunday School teacher and touched the lives of many children. She always taught them so much about the Bible. I am sorry for all she went through the last years. You all have my deepest sympathy. Vicky

Loretta had a lovely smile and often a twinkle in her eyes. I'm sure she was a great inspiration to many children as their Sunday school teacher, but none more than her devoted family.

Tom, I am so sorry to learn about Loretta's passing. What a beautiful, sweet and devoted lady. The world is less without her. My deepest sympathy.

Mrs. Higgins was a pleasant aquaintance and I have fond memories of my interactions with her. Many years ago when I was a teenager working at Slaughter's Supermarket, I was always happy to see her come in .....She always had a smile and kind greeting to share.
