Leigh Ann Martin

August 13, 1978 - December 12, 2023

Surrounded by loved ones on December 12th, Leigh Ann Martin (45), beloved mother, sister, and friend gained her eternal healing. 

Leigh is survived by her devoted husband Barry Martin, son, Kerry Martin (Billie), daughter, Layla Martin, and brother Jim Linkenhoker. Additionally, she is survived by her precious aunt and uncle Joyce Howell and Ernest (Ina) Martin. Special nieces and nephews include Aaron Linkenhoker, Kacey (Dougie), AJ, and Lainee Bryant, and Bryce Willard. She will be missed by her ‘Golden Girl’ best friends. She will also be missed by her fur babies Blue, Buster, Ryker, and Razzle. Leigh is preceded in death by her mother Barbara Ayers and brother Dale Linkenhoker. 

Family and friends were her #1 priority and Leigh could often be found camping with her loved ones or playing a game of Uno. Leigh spent many years in the medical community providing support and compassion to patients. She was passionate about animals and loved her pets. 

Leigh fought thyroid cancer for over 10 years. Thank you to the community that supported Leigh during her battles. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Heather Brooks, her oncologist and special friend, as well as the many wonderful nurses and caregivers. 

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 22nd from 6-8pm at Gardner Funeral Home and we welcome the community to remember Leigh’s life. A private ceremony for the family will be held at a later time.

Not words come for this. Just know Lee is in God's hand, along with her mom any many family and friends. Will be missed here on earth greatly, but her Love for all will be here for all who knew her. Love to family.

Many thoughts and prayers to her family. I grew up and went to school with Leigh. I have been so humbled by what a courageous fighter she has been. It was very clear how much she loved her children and her husband, and all of her friends and community.

One of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. She will be greatly missed by many. Prayers to the family in the coming days, weeks and years. Memories are precious!!

Barry and family prayers of peace to you in this difficult time. I never got to know Leigh as well as I would have liked to.. in my mind she is still a beautiful little girl with blonde curls and a sassy smile from my summer visits to our grandmother's house.
