Linda Frances Truitt

May 26, 1957 - January 02, 2025

Linda Frances Truitt, 67, of Floyd, passed away January 2, 2025. She was a long-time librarian where she influenced many children’s lives, instilling a love of reading. Linda loved her grandchildren, her cats, crocheting and visiting the ocean. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bill Truitt. Survived by her daughter: Krista Matuk (Sean); grandchildren: Kru, Grant, Tobin: Children by love: daughter: Ada Chrisman (Noel) and their children, Amelia and Sybil; Sons: Gabriel Truitt (Judith), and their children: Aurelia and Isabella; Erin Truitt (Mishana); Micha Sol and their daughter Belle.

Many of you know the challenges that Linda faced throughout her life. During her last days with us we asked that everyone pray for peace and comfort. We’re overjoyed to share that those prayers were answered, and she received the peace that she so much longed for and deserved.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Katherine Chantal officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 until 2 prior to service time. Linda asks that everyone wear their nicest tie dye or bright colors as this is a celebration to remember the light and love, she brought to all of us.

Flowers will be appreciated, or donations may be made to the Floyd Co. Humane Society.

Dear Krista, family and friends of Linda, My condolences on the passing of a true spirit of life. She was friendly and faithful, a spiritual girl whose light and love could be seen and felt by all who met her and who knew her. I am sad to say goodbye to a wonderful woman, but am glad that she is at peace. May peace be with all of you.

I am missing my friend. But in Linda I have a friend for life, just like dad said. I’m remembering her in the way she would wrap food, perfectly. She is by my side saying what I know she would say. Memories of so many years loving her.
