Chetley Bea Harmon

July 06, 1959 - May 06, 2025

Chetley Bea Harmon, 65, of Christiansburg passed away on May 6, 2025,  with his sister by his side. Chet was born on July 6,1959 in Roanoke and suffered many hardships throughout his life. He lived most of his life in the Poages Mill area of Roanoke County with his parents, who provided devoted and loving care until he moved into assisted living at the age of 50. Chet most recently lived at Commonwealth Senior Living in Christiansburg. 

Chet is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Stanley Bea Harmon and sister, Fredrica Roberts. He is survived by his sister, Stephana (Stacy) Barton and brother-in-law, Hubert Barton of Riner, nieces Emily (Keith) Pyle of Forest and Carole Roberts of Lynchburg, and nephews Travis Barton of Redlands CA and Matthew Barton (Jennifer Ingles) of Pittsboro NC.

Visitation will be held at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd on Friday May 9, 2025, from 4pm-5pm. Burial will be private when he is laid to rest at Wilson Cemetery in Check VA.     

The family would like to express special thanks to Amy Pettus, Tracy Estes and Molly Plaugher at Commonwealth Senior Living for spoiling him and showering him with love, and also Chet’s friend, Julie Rhudy who was such a positive influence in his life. We also wish to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for the care and attention they provided as Chet transitioned. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice at www.goodsam.care.
