Shirley Mae Conner

December 23, 1938 - December 13, 2025

Shirley Mae Conner, 86, of Copper Hill, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday December 13, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1938, to the late Edward and Inez Foster. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband Edsel Glenn “E.G.” Conner; brother, Lyndel Foster.

Shirley’s gift was cooking. She was in the kitchen at Check Elementary for several years along with K-Mart deli and the VA Hospital Cafeteria. After her retirement she frequently cooked meals for family and neighbors. Some of the other things she enjoyed included farming, fishing, gardening, traveling, and ginseng hunting.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Conner (Angela); grandchildren, Jonathan Conner (Lauren), Brooke Conner-Tsang (Aaron); great grandchildren, Saige, Ivory, Emberlyn Conner, Eliana Tsang; sister, Connie Hall; sister-in-law, Joyce Foster; and special friends, Emma Poff, Patsy Poff, Pat Bowling, along with numerous others.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 17,2025 at 2pm at Gardner funeral home with Pastor Randy Sutphin and Pastor Paul Stone Officiating. Interment will be at Restvale Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to service from 12pm-2pm at the Funeral Home. 

Our prayers and love is with you. Shirley my dear friend was such a humble and precious soul. She holds a special place in our heart. May God give you peace and comfort in your time of loss especially during the Christmas season

Shirley was a wonderful, sweet ,christian lady. She and EG were good friends to my parents. Praying for the family.

Shirley was married to my cousin E G Conner. She was a wonderful lady.
