David Nason Cockram

September 24, 1961 - January 29, 2026

David Cockram, age 64, of Floyd County, passed away on  January 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and quiet dedication to his family and work.

David was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Cockram. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Beverly Cockram; his son, Matthew Cockram (Priscilla); his daughter, Lauren Cockram (Brandon); and his cherished granddaughter, Khloe Coles. He is also survived by his mother, Helen Cockram; his sisters, Jeanette Chaffin (Stanley) and Lisa Bowman (Mike), along with extended family and friends who will miss him deeply.

David spent many years traveling for work, something he truly enjoyed, especially through his career working on electronics for Noritsu. He took pride in his work and had a natural talent for problem-solving, always willing to lend his skills wherever they were needed.

Above all, David was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His 39-year marriage to Beverly was a true partnership built on love, commitment, and shared laughter. His family was his greatest joy, and he showed his love through his presence, his

support, and his unwavering care. Those who knew him will remember his special sense of humor—one that could bring light to even the hardest moments and bring comfort to those around him.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026, at 11am, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastors Mike Bowman and Brian Cockram officiating. A private family interment will happen at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday February 6, 2026, from 5PM- 7PM at Gardner Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Palliative and Hospice team for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.

David will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was—a man who loved deeply, laughed often, and made those around him feel valued and cared for. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dear Beverly, Matt and the rest of your family, I was so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing but I understand when quality of life is no more we just need to let God take over. We don’t always like the results of that but do always remember He is in control! My prayers and condolences for God’s comfort is with you all! Hugs and love to you all!
