Velvie Vest Walters, age 96, of Charleston SC, formerly of Check, passed away Wednesday, September 5. 2012. Mrs. Walters was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Cecil H. Walters and a son Ivan L. Walters. Mrs. Walters loved her flowers and designing and making quilts. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Herman Wayne and Betty Walters; three grandsons and spouses David Wayne Walters, Daniel Lee and Patricia Walters, Joseph Morgan and Trina Walters; eight great-grandchildren Rebecca, Hannah, Elizabeth, Sarah, Morgan, Daniel, Jacob and Robert Walters; two sisters Hazel Huff and Effie Poff and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at 10:00 am. Friday, September 7, 2012 at Wilson Cemetery in Check, VA. with the Reverend Greg Fleshman officiating.
