Geneva Aldeen Collins

Geneva Aldeen Collins, 82 of Floyd, passed away at her home peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, December 23, 2012. She was born on September 4, 1930 in Floyd County to Albert and Etta Mae Dulaney. She was a member of Riner Grace Brethren Church She was preceded in death by her brother, Willard K. Dulaney. Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Paul S. Collins, and five children, Brenda Mae Cook (Bill), Garry Madison Collins (Donna), Barry Sheridan Collins, Cathy Lynn Burnette (Terry), and Danny Ray Collins (Donna) all of Floyd. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tony Cook, Kevin Cook, Bradley Quesenberry, Ginny Sculla, Ashley Collins, and Haley Collins; one niece, Connie Dunlap of Duxbury, MA, and five great-granchildren, a special friend, Mildred Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Gardner Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd County Rescue Squad. The family wishes to thank Carilion Hospice and also Carilion Home Health Nurses for their services. She always had a PRETTY SMILE for everyone, talked sweet and kind. We all will miss her, but we have think about the pain she has suffered. God needed a VERY SPECIAL ANGEL, so he called Geneva home. She had labored long and hard, raising 5 of the BEST CHILDREN,I know. I Pray for comfort and Peace for Paul and the rest of the Family.We are grieving with you. LOTS OF PRAYERS and LOTS of LOVE..

Cat and family, So sorry for the loss of your mom. I know especially at Christmas time, how much more her loss is felt. You will have to grieve for a time with heavy hearts, but a time will come when you will be able to remember her with joy and laughter.

To all the family, We were very sad to hear of the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. We know you all have your own special memories of her to comfort you and to keep her alive in your heart and family. We know she had been sick for a long time. Praise the Lord that she is now healthly, whole and beautiful. She is with our Heavenly Father and will never know sickness, sadness, or sorrow never again. So remember who she was to you and all the good things she did for her family and know you will see her again in Heaven.

Please accept my deepest sympathies at the passing of Mrs. Collins. I hope it is some small comfort that she will forever be at peace with no more pain and suffering. I regret that the weather prohibits travel to the funeral. I would be there if I could. Dawn Adams
