Ruby Wilma Underwood Agnew, 89, of Floyd passed away Friday, November 6, 2009. She was born on October 23, 1920 to the late Claude Swanson and Sally Hylton Underwood. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Ward Agnew; grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn and Dan Agnew; two brothers, Tom Underwood, Gilbert Underwood; two sisters, Ollie Thomas, Zella Compton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Jeanette Agnew, Floyd; granddaughter and husband, Gwen and Brent Hendrick, Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Julie Agnew Harris and husband Adam, Jennifer Hendrick, Kevin Hendrick; two great-great grandchildren, Tyler Harris, Elayna Harris; two sisters, Larma Harmon, Martinsville, Ava Wells, Christiansburg; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Gardner Funeral Home with Rev. John Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery.
