Kate Frances Epperly King

January 28, 1921 - April 13, 2010

Kate Frances Epperly King, 89, of Floyd, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace King, two sons, Lane Wimmer and Earl King, and one daughter, Mary King Peters. She was a faithful member of Stonewall Methodist-Brethren Church. Surviving are three sons, Sidna Wimmer and wife Margaret, Olympia, WA; Richard Wimmer and wife Linda, Floyd, VA; John King and wife Sandy, Marietta, GA; three daughters, Sarah Quesenberry and husband Donnie, Willis, VA; Audrey Brown and husband George, Salt Lake City UT; Gwinn Angle and husband Sam, Radford, VA; three sisters, L Z Wimmer, Salem, VA; Jane McKee, Tampa, FL; Georgia Cox, Christiansburg, VA; one brother, Daniel Epperly and wife Sylvia, Pilot, VA; two daughters-in-law, Mary Clark and husband Reginald, Copper Hill, VA; Frances McCoy and husband John, McCoy, VA; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great--grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Stonewall Methodist-Brethren Church with the Reverend Darren Landon officiating. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorial contributions may be made to the Stonewall Methodist-Brethren Church building fund in care of Debbie Collins, 1613 Kings Store Road, N.E., Check, VA 24072.
