Ruby Crotts- King

December 18, 1925 - June 11, 2015

Ruby Crotts- King, of Pilot, VA, born on December 18, 1925, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Ruby was always faithful at attending church and reading her Bible. She enjoyed going on bus tours, antique shopping, taking care of her home, spending time with friends and family, crossword puzzles, and going to her favorite Chinese restaurant. Because Ruby was such a strong, loving person, she had a great impact on the lives that she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brainard and Unie Flinchum, her husband, Roy Crotts, her sister, Katie Walters, and her son-in-law, Robert Walls. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Walls, Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Frances Brooks, Marita Bryant and Evelyn Rakes all of Salem, VA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Huffville United Methodist Church with Pastor Darren Landon officiating. Interment will follow in the Huffville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Huffville United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, it was Ruby’s request that a memorial be made to Huffville United Methodist Church in her name. Special thanks to all of Ruby’s close friends and hospice who supported her during her illness. Condolences to family may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com. The family is being served by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
