Warren C. Sowers

March 10, 1921 - January 17, 2016

Warren C. Sowers, 94, of Floyd, passed away January 17, 2016, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father Cleophus Sowers; mother Etta Sowers; Sisters, Eva Sowers and Faye Johnson and brother Ordway Sowers. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Daphine Sowers, brother Cova Sowers, four sons, Russell and Joyce Sowers, Tony Sowers, Dennis and Gwen Sowers, and Joseph Sowers. He has six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Wednesday January 20, 2016 at 1 PM at Jacksonville Cemetery with Chris Harman officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be by VFW Post # 7854 and American Legion Post # 127. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Gardner Funeral Home.
