David Posey Stilwell

November 16, 1937 - November 04, 2016

David Posey Stilwell, 78, of Indian Valley passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Posey and Martha Edmonds Stilwell; daughter, Deborah Rose Martin. He loved his family dearly and was a hard worker. Dave retired from the Lynchburg Foundry after 33 years of service. He was a founding member of Floyd County Station 4 Fire Department. Dave loved being outdoors and especially loved trapping and trout fishing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Quesenberry Stilwell; son and daughter -in-law, Dennis and Denise Stilwell; two granddaughters, Cindy M. Weaver, Holly Rose Stilwell; great-granddaughter, Savannah Rose Weaver; grandson-in-law, Lee E. Weaver; brother-in-law, Chester Quesenberry and his wife, Mattie; sisters-in-law, Blanche Quesenberry, Alma Quesenberry, numerous cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Cox Cemetery, Dugspur. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to Floyd County Station 4 Fire Dept.
