Dorothy Gladys Griffith Thomas, 88, of Floyd, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Luke Nester and Walter Thomas. She is survived by one sister, Odessa Ousley, Fieldale, VA; several nieces and nephews including a special niece and caregiver, Shirley Duncan, Floyd, VA. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the Lee Cemetery at Tuggles Gap with the Reverend Lee Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at Gardner Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.

I am one of Aunt Dorothy's nephews. I can remember her wearing that shower cap all the time... And no running water in her house. She will be missed.
