Dorothy “Polly” F. Tinnel

March 26, 1939 - October 29, 2019

Dorothy “Polly” F. Tinnel, 80, of Floyd, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 in her home, after suffering a massive stroke. Polly was an animal lover and an active member in her church community. She was a beloved school bus driver (for twenty-four years) and Head Custodian in the Montgomery County school system. She is survived by her four siblings, Ray Furrow, Claudine Goad, Larry Furrow, and Eve Wirt, and their spouses; her seven children, Angela “Sue” Joyner, Nancy Tinnel Emrick, Lisa Dickerson, Donna Renee Tinnel, Jeffery Jackson Tinnel, Steven Mark Tinnel, and Russell Dean Tinnell, and their spouses; along with twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to join us in honoring her memory at an Inurnment service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, on Friday, November 29, 2019 at 2:30 pm, located at 2880 N. Franklin Street, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd County Humane Society (http://www.floydhumanesociety.org/) or the Trustees of Fellowship Baptist Church, at her request and in honor of her great love for animals and her strong faith.
