Ashley Renée St. Clair Chaffin, 23, of Floyd departed her life on Sunday, May 3, 2009 to go home to be with her Lord. She was a loving and caring mother. Her daughter, Lacey, was truly the light of her life. Ashley believed in going to Heaven so much that she requested, “When we all get to Heaven” be sung at her wedding. She was a member of Seneca Baptist Church. Ashley is survived by her husband and soul mate, Richard Chaffin; daughter, Lacey Renée St. Clair; mother and step-father, Karen and John Bandy; father and step-mother, Marty and Sarah St. Clair; two sisters, Amy Bandy, Kristin Bandy; two brothers, Nathan Billett, Zachary Billett; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Danny and Kendra Chaffin; sister-in-law, Whittney Chaffin; grandparents, David and Betty Vaught, Al and Shirley Montgomery, Mabel Bandy, H. T. and Mary Grindstaff; grandparents-in-law, James and Mildred Chaffin, Margaret Chaffin, Eldon and Nancy Turner; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Seneca Baptist Church, Elliston, with the Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seneca Baptist Church, 8572 Roanoke Rd, Elliston, VA 24087. I am going to miss Ashley sooo much. I am going to miss everyday I walked into work she was there to cheer you up. I was soooo proud to see what all she did with her life for the time that I knew her(like being a great MOM and finding her Soulmate.) She was an AMAZING FRIEND.

I will greatly miss Ashley. I first hired Ashley at Haley Toyota a little over 3 years ago and I just remember looking at her smile and saying to myself "This young lady could really make a difference". She always had a smile on her face and you could always find her laughing. It is hard to believe that she is gone but I know in my heart that God needed another angel in heaven. My heart goes out to Ashley's family. May you find strength in each other, and while time may heal, you will never forget the good memories of her. You will be together someday and she will flash that smile at you to tell you that everything is okay. May God be with you and your family during this time of need.

Ashley, Where to begin...you were such a special young lady who had truly found happiness in the last couple of years. First your beautiful little Lacey Lou and then Richard. I am going to miss our lunches on Thursday so much. What I would do to hold you one more time.
