Eula Gaye Sowers

June 21, 1931 - December 22, 2020

Eula Gaye Sowers, 89, of Floyd, VA devoted wife, mother and grandmother went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at her home surrounded by family. She was the daughter of James Adam Dickerson and Charlotte Melissa Clemmons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Irvin Sowers; her grandchildren, Charlotte Troutt and Dale Browning; as well as eight siblings. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Diane Browning (Gratton), Carolyn Troutt and one son, Michael Sowers (Lona) all of Floyd; grandchildren, Vicky Spangler (George), Rodney Troutt of Floyd and April Goforth; great-grandchildren, Michelle (David), Christy, Christopher, Cathleen, Celena, Eric, Cameron, Jaden and Alana along with many great-great grandchildren and a niece, Linda Turpin (Ray). Special friends and bonus family include the Pratt family, Cheryl, Taylor, Wanda and Angie. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Gardner Funeral Home, with Pastor Leon Wood and Pastor James Bradley officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral at Gardner Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. If you choose to come to the services, please wear a face mask inside of the facilities due to COVID-19.
