Gwendolyn (Sue) Pieper

September 25, 1917 - December 04, 2011

Gwendolyn (Sue) Pieper, of Roanoke, joined many of her family, in the presence of the Lord, on Sunday, December 4th. She and her husband Charles Monroe, who predeceased her, have been residents of Ohio, Florida, Floyd County and most recently, Roanoke County. They were the anchor of the family of four children, Joyce Stevens and husband John now living in Christiansburg, Jim Pieper and wife Sharon in Jacksonville, Florida, Christy Wente` in Roanoke, and Fred Pieper who pre-deceased his parents. Gigi will also be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and by her special care-giver and many friends. Gwendolyn is adoringly described as “ a true lady of grace with a song in her heart.” She has touched many lives and has been a beautiful role model for those who follow in her footsteps. Funeral services will be held at the Gardner Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 with Dr. Graham Mitchell officiating. Interment services will be held at the Ehrstein Cemetery in Englewood, Ohio at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 12. The family will receive friends at Gardner Funeral Home on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service. Thanks be to God for this beautiful life. Condolences to the family may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com.
