Arving Hubert Deweese

January 12, 1930 - April 17, 2022

Arving Hubert DeWeese, 92, of Bent Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Hubert was a hard working man and a loving husband and father. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Bent Mountain, Virginia. He retired from Valleydale Meat Packing Company in Salem, Virginia. Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Trigg and Laura Deweese and 8 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ocelia DeWeese; his children, Phillip (Billie Jo) DeWeese, Cindy K. Manning, Bruce (Kathie) DeWeese; grandchildren, Jason Manning, Travis DeWeese, Dustin Manning, Lisa K. Manning, Elisha Cuddy, Kevin Manning, Kristen Beckner, Noah DeWeese and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Lois Rock and Josephine (Bill) Barksdale, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor John O’Donnell officiating. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday.
