Peter Russell King

Peter Russell King, age 66, died December 3, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home. Peter died from complications of lung cancer. He fought cancer with determination, courage and humor, never losing his sense of humor and zest for life. Peter was born in Hinsdale, Illinois. He graduated from Bellhaven College. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Roland King and Virginia Anderson King. He is survived by his wife Barbara Rutrough King, mother-in-law Nadine Rutrough, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Robyn Rutrough, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dr. Howard Conduff, Jr. and Nancy, three nephews, several cousins, two aunts, many friends and a loving supportive church community. Peter was a member of the Emanus community (Walk #94) and a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church. Peter was a parts salesman at Jenkins Cycle and Mower. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm at A.S. Turner & Sons. A celebration of life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church at 11 am Wednesday, December 7, 2011 with viewing prior to the service at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at Willis Cemetery, Willis, VA.on Saturday, December 10, 2011at 11:00 am with the Reverend Linda Motley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 458 Ponce de Leon ave., NW, Atlanta Ga. 30308 or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., SW, Atlanta, Ga. 30315.
