James C. Agnew

April 10, 1934 - June 24, 2022

James Agnew, 88, of Floyd, passed away on June 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Effie, and Daniel Agnew; brothers, Ward Agnew, DJ Agnew; sisters, Iris Yeattes, Dorothy Belcher, and Barbara Nolen. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Edna M. Agnew; son, Jeff Agnew (Susan); daughter, Tammy Agnew; grandchildren, Cory Agnew, Arianna Agnew, Ashton Agnew; along with many nieces and nephews that will greatly miss him. James was a car salesman for over forty years. He owned Agnew’s Used Cars on Barberry Rd in Floyd which he ran up until one month ago. He was a member of the Word of Truth Baptist Church. He loved all the people that he served and many of his friends started out as customers. James loved watching Nascar racing along with traveling to watch his son race. He will sadly be missed by all that knew him. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 29, 2022, at 2pm at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Bumgarner and Pastor Leon Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors two hours prior to service time.

I remember growing up and visiting with my dad, Ross Warren. I loved going to the shop and seeing Mr.Ag-a-new. My dad said I would say it wrong long after I knew the correct way. I am so sorry for your loss!
