Maynard Guy Huff

January 15, 1944 - August 16, 2023

Maynard Guy Huff, 79, of Patrick Springs, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, peacefully at his home.  He was born on January 15, 1944, to the late Esley Huff and the late Gertrude Bolt Huff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Huff, and his sister, Linda Thomas. 

 Maynard was of the Baptist faith and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. Maynard was employed by Stanley Furniture and DuPont for many years. He enjoyed working outdoors, antique cars, auto racing, collecting antiques, and visiting with family and friends. 

 Maynard is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruby Porter Huff; sister, Phyllis Huff Quesenberry of Willis, VA; brother-in-law, James Thomas of Floyd, VA; sister-in-law, Ralphene Huff of Floyd, VA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

 A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 12 o'clock at the Bassett Funeral Service chapel. Burial will follow immediately following the service at Jacksonville Cemetery in Floyd, VA, with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The Pallbearers will be, David Thomas, Mike Thomas, Larry Huff, Kenny Huff, Darrell Quesenberry, and Greg Shortt. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Maynard Turner, Art Porter and Joe Porter.
