Richard Otis Price

October 01, 1968 - December 05, 2023

Richard Otis Price, 55, of Floyd, VA sadly left us on December 5, 2023. He was born on October 1,1968 to Clinton Price, Sr. and Virginia “Pat” Price. He was a beloved, dedicated caring individual. Otis never met a stranger, and he was cherished by all who knew him. He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton Price, Sr. and Virginia “Pat” Price and a special family friend, Eugene Hogan. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife: Sandra Price; sons: Richard Ramsey and Xavier Price; daughters: Latisha Price and Casandra Price; grandchildren: Jose Sanchez, Zacariah Ramsey, Zyree Ramsey, and Quinnelee Price; siblings: Deronda Price and Clinton Price; a sister figure: Barbara Moore, and a host of other family and friends.

After Graduating from Floyd County High School in 1986 he began his journey of hard work, dedication and accomplishments. He married is wife Sandra in 1998 and they had four children. Otis’s career spanned from holding supervising titles at Reed, Federal Mogul, The Foundry, and Moog to present employment at Carmett Logistics. During this time Otis received his bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies.

Otis was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being Las Vegas “Oakland” Raiders, UNC men’s basketball and Miami Hurricanes football team. His love for sports and his family was the road that led him to coaching. His coaching career gave him the privilege to coach his sons, grandsons, and many more through AAU, Recreation League, and school sports. Otis had a tremendous impact on numerous people, and most important of all, Otis loved spending time with his family and going to races with his brother Clinton.

Funeral Services will be Thursday December 14, 2023, at 1 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Elder Larry Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Little River Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday December 14, 2023 at Gardner Funeral Home from 11 AM until 1 PM.

Remembering Otis back from coming over with Deronda and playing Clinton Sr's beautiful Guitar and listening to Pat tell stories and most of all little Otis with the sweetest smile I ever saw on a young boy at the time. The world lost a great man! My heart goes out to the family and friends who were lucky to have know such a good person. My friend, my colleague, you shall be missed.

To my family we have lost a piece of our heart. I had the privilege of being your sister and watching you grow up and watch you succeed as an adult. Little Brother I will miss you terribly because as the oldest I can’t imagine this world without you in it. But I know the world you are in now is filled with peace, joy and happiness. Also you have seen Heaven and all the ones who are waiting on us. But most importantly you are in the arms of a loving God. Until I see you again!!
