Troy Edward Sutphin

May 18, 1939 - January 22, 2024

Troy Edward Sutphin, 84, of Floyd was born May 18, 1939, and passed away January 22, 2024. He was always quite the prankster and loved to make people laugh. He was employed by the textile industry in Floyd and in Roanoke for many years and was a very talented pattern maker. He also worked with Jeff Agnew’s Racing Team. Later Troy worked at Roanoke Truck Sales. Troy attended Fairview Church of the Brethren in Floyd. He is survived by his wife of almost 17 years, Beverly Cockram Sutphin; Daughters, Brenda White, Barbara Light, Tammy (Darryl) Wade; son, Jeff (Lisa) Sutphin; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; mother-in-law: Lorene Powers; sister-in-law: Brenda Farmer. Funeral Services will be Thursday Jan 25, 2024, at 1 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Pratt officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery, Tuggles Gap. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 AM until service time.

So sorry for your loss. Troy was a sweet and kind man. I worked with him when he was a pattern maker, we had some fun times and plenty of laughs. We used to play jokes on each other. I hadn’t seen him in years but he will be missed. RIP Troy🙏🏻❤️
