John Perry Baker

March 24, 1964 - January 21, 2024

John Perry Baker, 59, of Floyd, Virginia, passed away on January 21, 2024 after a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. John was born to Willam Baker and Myra Hine in Columbus, Ohio in 1964. In 1998, he met the love of his life, Sandra, in Memphis, Tennessee, where they learned they shared a love of baseball and all things cats. They married a year later in a quaint church overlooking the Mississippi River. John and Sandra moved to Floyd in 2013 where John was employed by Hollingsworth and Vose and where he retired in 2022.

John is survived by his wife, Sandra; brother, Curtis Baker of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Ellen Baker (Peter Levites) of Columbus Ohio; and brother, Justin Baker (Deb Baker) of Dublin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (http://support.pancan.org/goto/JohnBaker) or the Floyd County Humane Society (https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MjAyNjMx) in John’s name.
