Ronald William Penn

May 18, 1948 - February 27, 2012

Ronald William Penn went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Ronald loved fishing, gardening, his dog Lilly , but most of all his cherished family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elena Penn and one brother Joseph Penn. He is survived by his wife, Nora Elizabeth (Smith) Penn; son, Ronald J. Penn; daughter, Amy R. Penn and daughter and son in law, Melanie and Shawn Carter. He is also survived by his much loved grandchildren, Ronald J. Penn Jr., Joshua Penn, Nicholas Grabar, Molly Grabar and Logan Carter, daughter in law, Shelly Barry, special friend, Chrissie Farrell, and many extended family members. Ronald’s family is honoring his wish to not have any funeral services, as they said their goodbyes in private on Monday evening at the hospital. Dear Nora, I am so sorry to hear of your husband's death. You are one my favorite buddies from FCHS--always loved visiting you in ISS. My condolences to you and your fine children and grandchildren.

Nora, I was looking at some pictures and there was one of Ronnie and Walt taking the fishing boat off the car. I Googled his name and was so sad to see his obituary. It seems like only yesterday we were kids and having fun. Walt passed away in 2009 and it has been very difficult. I am glad you have your family and friends to help you through this.
