Charles "Darrell" Parker

October 28, 1965 - February 02, 2025

Charles "Darrell" Parker Went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 2, 2025, at the age of 59. He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Mae Parker on October 1, 1994; father, James Henry Parker Sr. On July 13, 2018; sister, Carolyn Sue Hairston Fontaine October 21, 2006; Brother, William Dwayne Hairston, November 3, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Crystal Parker; brother, James Parker; children, Shawna M. Gray and Bryant Whitby of South Carolina, Charles D Parker Jr. and Robin Parker of Roanoke Virginia, Zakota P. King and Gabriel A. King of Floyd, Virginia, Cameron D. Parker and Alea Lacoste of Floyd Virginia, Javon D. Parker and Kayleigh Spencer of Floyd Virginia. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Kaleah Parker, Rozalyn Parker, Silas Hoback, Jiraiya Whitby, Clyde, Parker, Kyrastin Parker, Vanity Parker, Zerenity Parker, Jace Parker, Zacaria Parker, Special nieces Samantha Hill of Roanoke Va, Khrystina Hairston of Floyd Va. and a host of family.

Darrell Parker was born to Stella Mae Parker and James H Parker Sr. on October 28, 1965, in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from FCHS in 1986. He exceeded in any and everything he put his mind to. He ran his own Masonry business for 13 years. He was last employed at Federal Mogul. He was a loving husband, father, brother, pawpaw, and uncle. He was a stranger to no one, loved by all. He coached and mentored many. He battled Kidney Cancer for a little over 2 1/2 years winning his fight when he gained his angel wings.

Memorial Services for family and friends will be held on February 15, 2025, at 1 PM at Bethesda House of Mercy 209 Howard St., Floyd, VA 24091.

This breaks my heart for all of the people who loved Darrell. He was so special and a great friend. When we were in elementary school, like second grade, I was getting picked on and Darrell and James stood up for me...protected me. I never forgot them for that. Many prayers and hugs for comfort.

Darrell will be missed by a lot of folks; he was a good man. I have fond memories of playing basketball with him and James "back in the day." Praying for his family and friends.
