James Marvin Radford

September 21, 1932 - April 30, 2025

James Marvin Radford, 92, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 30, 2025. He was a native of Floyd County and served in the United States Navy and was a Korean War Veteran.  Afterwards he spent a long career driving a truck and retired fromHollandsworth and Vose. During retirement he enjoyed the outdoors and spending quality time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Swanson and Ethel Radford, brothers Leonard Radford and Harry Lee Radford, sister Doris Dickerson and sons James Robert Radford and Timothy Lee Radford.  He is survived by his wife, Carol Snead Radford of 67 years; children, Venda (Garrett) Keith, Linda Radford-Goad(Paul), Lyn (Scott) Wimmer; grandchildren, Derrike(Brittney) Keith, Janee (Jake) Fizer, Taylor Radford;great grandchildren, Avery Fizer, Haisley Fizer, Emberlynn Fizer, Oakleigh Fizer, Caden Keith, Jace Keith; brother, Roger (Sally) Radford.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm with funeral services following at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Gardner Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Bumgarner officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery.

Venda, Linda, and Lyn, I'm so sorry about your dad. I have so many fond memories of him, and he was such a good friend to my dad through the years. I'll never forget when my car broke down traveling from NC to PA, and he drove my dad to pick me up and take me to a car rental business. He was such a kind man and such a good friend to our family for many years. Jo Anne and I send our love and prayers in your loss.
