Alice Claudine Belcher

July 26, 1925 - April 14, 2012

Alice Claudine Belcher went to be with her savior April 14, 2012 after a lengthy stay at Skyline Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 86 years old and a lifetime resident of Floyd County. She was a faithful member of Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church from childhood until she was unable to attend. She was an employee at Mabry Mill for many years. She was pre-deceased by her parents William Rufus and Stella Mae Wood, husbands Leonard Calvin Rorrer (WWII July 2, 1944) and John Luther Belcher. A brother Alden H. Wood, a stepdaughter Sylvia Epperly and stepson J.B. Belcher. A daughter-in-law Freeda H. Rorrer. She will be sadly missed by her son Leonard Calvin Rorrer,Jr. and his wife Frances Canada Rorrer, sister Lorna Moran and husband Troy of Meadows of Dan, brother Joseph Wood and wife Ellen of Dublin, sister Ruth Moore and husband Roddy of Abingdon, brother Charles Wood and wife Nelene of Christiansburg, sister-in-law Alzora Wood of Floyd. Also survived by stepdaughter Juanita Moore and husband Buddy, stepson Carl Belcher and wife Geneva, a stepson-in-law Bud Epperly and stepdaughter-in-law Terri Belcher. Grandchildren Leonard Calvin Roorer, III and wife Becky of West Lafayette, IN and Lee Rorrer Holifield and husband Mike of Jacksonville, FL. Step grandchildren John Skidmore of Roanoke and Mark Skidmoreand wife Robyn of Rocky Mount, Donnie and Wayne Epperly of Pilot, Sean and Chris Moore of Eden, NC, Marshall and Dwight Prillaman of Eden ,NC, David Ararat, NC Alicia Boyd of Floyd, and Vicky Hylton OF Meadows of Dan. Numerous great grand children nieces and nephews. A very special dog named Strana. Visitation will be six to eight P.M., Monday April 16, 2012, friends may call after 2:00 P.M. and funeral services 11:00 A.M. April 17,2012 at Gardner Funeral Home.
