Jeanne Marie Farris

October 21, 1948 - August 18, 2025

Jeanne Marie Farris, 77, of Pilot, Virginia, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Jeanne was born on October 21, 1948, in Michigan to the late Stephen A. Farris, Jr. and Regina A. Smith. The oldest of five children, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James K. Farris.

As the daughter of a West Point graduate and Air Force fighter pilot, Jeanne’s early years were marked by travel and adventure. During her childhood the family lived in Alaska, Alabama, Virginia, and England before she attended and graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1970.

Following graduation, Jeanne worked as a community organizer with VISTA in Worcester, Massachusetts, dedicating herself to service and advocacy. She went on to build a successful career in the technology field, including work with IBM, where she helped manage and distribute an extensive software program for law enforcement in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her loving husband, Beau Bagley of Pilot, Virginia; her siblings, Stephen A. Farris III and wife Julie of Newport News, VA, Bobbie Ann McGowan of Odenton, Maryland, P.J. DeVito (wife of James K. Farris) of Bennington, Vermont and Susan Farris and husband Steve Gillingham of Fairfax Station, Virginia; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

Jeanne will be remembered for her sharp mind, her sense of humor, and her deep devotion to the love of her life, her husband Beau. She loved her cats and the many animals who graced her rural home in Pilot. Those who knew her will hold close memories of her for many years to come.

Services will be private honoring the wishes of her immediate family.
