Ronald Allen Byrd Jr., 60, of Dublin, finished his final race here on earth and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday October 10, 2025. Ronnie grew up in little creek, VA. He met the love of his life in middle school and have been happily together for 44 years. Ronnie had a passion for building and racing cars. He was well known in the racing community. Ronnie loved the lord and shared his testimony with others and was a long-time member of the Dublin Church of God. Above all else Ronnie enjoyed the time he got to spend with his children and his grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Allen Byrd Sr. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Michaela Byrd; children, Jamie Byrd (Kim), Lindsey Groseclose (Jason), Whitney Cockram (Daryn); grandchildren, Eli Byrd, Marlee Byrd, Ireland Byrd, Tripp Byrd, Chase King, Channing Gallimore, Brittany Cockram(Ryan Collins), Dustin Potts(Lauren), Jessica Dunn(Cory), Matthew Cockram, Lakyn Cockram; great grandchildren, Carson Collins, Conner Collins, Madeline Dunn, Bryton Dunn, Parker Potts; mother, Barbara Cumbe; stepfather, Douglas Linkous; Mother and Father in Law, Vernon and Sara Stanley; siblings, Dwayne Linkous (Robin), Sarah Garmon (Steve), Cynthia Hurst (Josh), Jill Linkous; brother in law, Brian Stanley (Diane); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Lewis Gale Pulaski, Blue Ridge Cancer Care, UVA Medical Center, and ACG Hospice for the amazing and compassionate care that you gave him over the past few years.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 14, 2025, at 7pm at Dublin Church of God with Pastor Adam Frye officiating. A private family graveside will be held at a later time. The family will receive friends from 4pm - 7pm on Tuesday prior to service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dublin Church of God.

Ronnie was a special person. He always greeted me with a smile and kind word. Prayers for Michaela and the family.

I'm so sorry and saddened by Ronnie's passing. I have so many lasting memories of him that still puts a smile on my face. We had so much fun on the race track when we raced together. If it's anything I can do for yall just ask.

Ronnie was one-of-a-kind. A great man, with a tender heart, and a zealous passion for Christ, and a wonderful love for his family. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on!
