Lottie Mae Poff Radford

July 18, 1932 - December 21, 2025

Lottie Mae Poff Radford, 93, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 21, 2025. Lottie loved gardening. She canned, froze, and dried everything she grew. She planted flowers and loved spring when the wild azaleas were in bloom. She spoke lovingly and with laughter about her dear friend Myrum Janney. How they walked the mountains to find walnuts and hickory nuts. She loved music, square dancing and won trophies for “Flat Footing’”. She was one of the groups that started the Floyd Rescue Squad Auxiliary and worked faithfully for many years. Lottie was born on July 18, 1932, to Ennis and Evelyn Poff, both deceased. She was also predeceased by her brother: Milton Poff; and sister: Edith Janney Flint; and her husband: Eston Radford. She married Eston on July 2, 1949, at the age of 16 and they were married for 63 years until his passing in 2013. She is survived by brother and sister-in-law: Robert Nelson Poff & Millie Poff; sister: Lillian Oyler; Many nieces and nephews who loved her. Lottie was straight forward when she talked with you, but also kind and funny. She will be missed by many. She was grateful for the care she received while at Skyline Manor Nursing and Rehab. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vest Cemetery, C/O Denise Peters 142 Daniels Run Rd. Copper Hill, VA 24079. Funeral Services will be Saturday December 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Gardner Funeral Home with Rev. David Stetler and Pastor Joseph Ashby officiating. Interment will follow in Vest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM before the service. 

Aunt Lottie you will be missed by all we enjoyed the farm with you and spending time laughing and visiting and all the good times with Uncle Eston and You. I know he was waiting for you at the gates of heaven when you arrived. Love and miss you both

I have known Lottie for many years from church Floyd House of Prayer, She was always friendly and funny things to say She had a good friend in Myrum Janney

So enjoyed spending time with her. Having not met her until assigned to provide home PT with her, I wasnt sure if our agency would be welcome in her home. As it turned out she was always cordial and a true inspiration to me and my co workers. Condolences to her friends and family!

I have fond memories of going to the Radford farm to see uncle Eston and aunt Lottie. Enjoyed everything from milking the cows with aunt Lottie, to working on the bailer with uncle Eston. They always made me feel at home, especially aunt Lottie. I loved her strait forward honesty and sense of humor. I will miss the conversations we had and the wisdom she shared. But she is home with Eston now. I hope to see them both again one day.

So many wonderful memories of summer visits to the farm. Sitting outside and all the stories told. We will miss you Aunt Lottie.

Aunt Lottie was a very special person to me. I was able to visit her twice this fall. I also was able to talk to her on the phone recently. I will miss her. Jack

Going to be missed as a good freind,She let me fish in her pond,Caught some nice crappie and me and brad cleaned them and she cooked them the next day with corn bread and fried apples,what a treet,she was a special lady,BEST OF ALL ,I KNOW WE WILL MEET AGAIN IN HEAVEN,

WAS A GOOD PERSON,SHE LET BRAD TAKE ME FISHING IN HER POND,WE CAUGHT A NICE MESS OF CRAPPIE AND WE TOOK AND CLEANDED THEM AND SHE CALLED US ,AND TOLDS US TO COME EAT WITH HER,SHE HAD FRIED APPLES AND CORN BREAD,iT WAS DELICIOUS,SUCH A GOOD PERSON

I always enjoyed talking to Lottie at Family gatherings. She was much loved by my Mom, Betty Board and I will think of her often when I think of family. Dianna

I was so blessed to know such an amazing lady, I will cherish my memories with Lottie . Much love to the family.

Sorry I didn't get to come to services. Lottie was a sweet lady and I enjoyed working with her while on the Rescue Squad. Love and Prayers for all of you.
