Anna K. Matz, 68, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 14, 2026. She was preceded in death by her son: Walter Matthew Phillips; parents: William H. and Annie M. Dickerson; brother: William G. Dickerson. She is survived by her brothers & sisters-in-law: Roger & Jennifer Dickerson, Bruce & Becky Dickerson; sister & brother-in-law: Lona & Mike Sowers. Nephews & Nieces: David Dickerson, Josh & Carrie Dickerson, Brittany & Kenneth Monroe, Katrina Dickerson Glatt; great nephews & nieces: Dayton Dickerson, Briley Dickerson, Anni’ Grace Dickerson, Hudson Monroe, Zack Monroe, Kaitlin Huff, Aj Ferguson; her faithful dog: Maggie. Funeral Services will be Wednesday June 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Gardner Funeral Home with Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Chapel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 AM to service time. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Floyd Station 1 Fire Department, P O Box 33 Floyd, VA 24091, in memory of her son Matthew Phillips. The family is in the care of Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.

I worked with Anna several years ago. I was just thinking of her out of the blue and decided to look her up. To her family, I'm so sorry for your loss. She was a very sweet woman.
