Kenneth Leon “Bink” Tolbert

May 22, 1958 - June 25, 2026

Kenneth Leon “Bink” Tolbert, 68, of Willis, Virginia, passed away on June 25, 2026.

Born on May 22, 1958, Bink lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a love for the simple things in life. Known to nearly everyone simply as “Bink,” he was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose impact on those around him will be felt for generations.

Bink worked for many years at Turman’s Sawmill, where he earned the respect of coworkers and friends through his determination, skill, and strong work ethic. More than anything, he was devoted to his family and the life he built with those he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Dreama Tolbert; his daughter, Kenzie Baldwin (Nick); his stepdaughters, Michelle Harmon and Sonya Griffith (Tony); his mother, Nita Turman; his sisters, Linda King (Coy) and Pam Dalton; his grandchildren, Ethan Griffith (Dakota), Easton Griffith, Trevor Harmon (Addie), and Adam Harmon; his great-granddaughter, Banner Griffith; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Tolbert, and his sister, Brenda King.Together, Bink and Dreama built a beautiful life at their dream home and on the land they cherished in Willis, Virginia. There, they embraced a simple and meaningful way of life, raising their daughter, Kenzie, and sharing their home with the many beloved animals that became part of their family. It was the place Bink loved most and where he found his greatest peace and happiness.

Bink loved being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting for arrowheads, walking trails with his faithful dog, Polly, and spending quiet evenings on his front porch listening to the radio. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, humor, determination, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a man of many talents who could fix nearly anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. There was no place Bink would have rather spent his final days than at home in Willis, surrounded by the land he loved, his family, and the peace he worked so hard to create. It was Bink’s wish not to have a formal memorial service; however, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, medical professionals, and hospice staff who provided compassionate care and support during his final days. Flowers, cards, and other expressions of sympathy are welcome. The family also invites friends and loved ones to honor Bink by sharing their memories and stories of the moments they shared together.Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

My favorite memories of Bink is him riding his golfcart past our house EVERY Sunday for years on the way to his Mama's. That golfcart ride got more crowded after his sister Brenda passed and Bink took her beautiful dog in to live with him. Our pup was a little concerned at first seeing this new creature in the cart with him. Sometimes Brenda's dog would get out and wander through our yard and greet our pup, but most times she would sit calmly in the cart with Bink, her new human. I couldn't think of a better way to describe Bink other than how this pup who had lost it's human (and Bink had lost his sister) found comfort with a new human that was caring for her. Bink made his marks in this world in his own way. I send hugs and prayers to all of his family.

Bink was a tremendous talent as a sprinter at FCHS. I can still remember his quiet smile just before he shocked many competitors with his speed! He was a great brother and teammate. Rest Easy!

My family and I are heavy hearted. Mom has been talking about her memories of Bink and Uncle Russell together alot growin up around grandma Treva Quesenberry. We have loved the blessing of growing up and living beside your family all these years. One of my very favorite pictures on mom's walls is a black and white photo with my daddy Grover sitting on a plow, two of Reva Smith's boys, Russell, and the smallest boy was Binkie as we always called him. I will try to upload it on this site and will send it to Linda. We love you all and are praying! Lisa Martin Galloway
