Ethel McPeak Thompson Bolt

November 26, 1923 - August 28, 2012

Ethel McPeak Thompson Bolt, age 88, of Willis, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She was a member of the first graduating class at Willis High School. She was in charge of gas rationing at Norfolk Naval Base during World War II. As an avid motorcycle rider, she was a charter member of the Motor Maids Motorcycle Club. Mrs. Bolt was a longtime member of Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Buffalo Mountain Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William D. (Tommy) Thompson, Sr. and Truman Bolt, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Doug Thompson and wife, Amy; Kendall K. Bolt; one step-son, Truman C. Bolt, Jr. and wife, Akia; one daughter, Vickie Bryant; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeff Dalton officiating. I am truly sorry to hear of Ethel's passing. I have fond memories of her from my childhood. She was a very amicable woman and I will never forget her. May God bless you in this time of sorrow and comfort you with thoughts of happier times that were spent with her.

Kendall, Vicki, Truman, Doug: Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing & that I was unable to come to the service. I remember her as an interesting & entertaining lady. You guys have been in my thoughts & prayers & have my sympathy.
