Mary Dorothy Moran DeWitt , age 94, Daughter of James Rufus Moran and Lelia Peters Moran passed away on December 5, 2012 in Fishersville, VA. She was born in Floyd, VA. in 1918. She married Ralph E. DeWitt. They lived in the coal fields of West Virginia for several years; then in Roanoke, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Melvin; a son-in-law, Paul Cheek; infant twin granddaughters; a great grandson, Josh and sister-in-law, Essie Moran. She is survived by a daughter, Shelby Cheek of North Hollywood, CA; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Martha DeWitt of Staunton, VA, and Glen and Delores DeWitt of Hermitage, TN.; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Restvale Cemetery with Mr. Mitchell Floyd officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, VA.
