Iva Geraldine Shortt

October 16, 1928 - August 12, 2013

Iva Geraldine Shortt, 84, of Floyd went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2013. She was born on October 16, 1928 to the late David and Alma Shortt and was sister of the late Rural Shortt. Also preceding her in death was a very special cousin, Peggy Bullin, and two beloved aunts, Dovie Nolen and Mamie Barton.Those left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law, Bernease Shortt; niece, Joyce Askey ( Arthur ); nephew Maurice Quesenberry ( Connie ); nephew Greg Shortt ( Debbie ); grandnieces and nephews, Megan Quesenberry, Michelle Faherty ( Mark ), Marc Quesenberry ( Kim ), Kendall Shortt and Korey Shortt. Two Great-Nephews, Marshall and Elijah Faherty.Geraldine enjoyed her many years on the farm, along with spending time with family and friends at County Line Church. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Heritage Hall- Laurel Meadows, Laurel Fork, VA., for their compassionate care and friendship shown to Gearldine over the past five years. Funeral Services will be held at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Thursday, August 15, 2013 with the Pastor, Dale Belcher officiating. Interment will follow at County Line Cemetery.
