Lila Lawson Buchanan

Lila Catherine Lawson Buchanan, 80, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday March 23, 2009. She was born in Meadows of Dan, VA to the late Turner and Agnes Lawson. She worked in Richmond and Roanoke before moving from Roanoke to Christiansburg in 2001. She was a member of Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. Lila was preceded in death by her husband Horace G. Buchanan, III, four sisters Ida Cruise, Anna Lawson, Orene Harris, and Edna Cockram, and four brothers Floyd Lawson, Matt Lawson, Guy Lawson, and John Ellis Lawson. She is survived by a daughter & son-in-law, Lucinda “Cyndi” & Brian Hamilton, Cedar Park, TX, three grandchildren, Lawson Hamilton, Savannah Hamilton, and Liam Hamilton, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene & Earl Simpson, Martinsville, VA, Wilma & Al Padgett, Parkville, MD, and Clara & Larry Despers, Cloverdale, VA, brother-in-law, Warren Harris, and sister-in-law, Arlene Lawson, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Sunday March 29, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Gardner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Makis officiating. Interment will follow in Lawson Cemetery Meadows of Dan, VA. Family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 until 2:30 at Gardner Funeral Home Floyd, VA.
