Phyllis C. Egemeier Cambareri Antini

October 06, 1922 - October 10, 2017

Phyllis C. Antini, 95, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 quietly waiting for her evening glass of wine at Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Joyce C. Trogdon, parents Frederick and Florence Egemeier, siblings Frederick, Betty, Jack, Chris, Peggy, and her husbands George Cadmus, Tom Cambareri and John Antini. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Cadmus (Larry Ramsey), sons Thomas Cambareri (Debbie) and Mark Cambareri (Nancy), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Born in Ossining, New York and the youngest of six children, Phyllis delighted in her Model T camping stories with her brothers and sisters throughout NY and New England. After graduating high school Phyllis went to Cooper Union Art School in NYC. She worked during the War and was proud of her Navy “E” Pin. After rearing her family she began work at the US Bedford Post Office and became a Postmaster for offices in Johnson and New Hampton New York. She retired to Myrtle Beach in 2001. Phyllis enjoyed family trips to the beaches at Sherwood Island, Midway at Seaside, Maine and Cape Cod. Phyllis applied her artistic talents throughout her life designing and sewing clothes for her daughters and their dolls, making costumes and holiday decorations, and making signs and posters for school, scout events and advertising. She was a voracious reader of mysteries and kept up with national and global politics. In the last year of her life she drew portraits of family and nursing staff. Phyllis’ ashes will be interred with her Egemeier Parents and sister Gwendolyn at the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Ossining, New York at a private service.
